Clawson: "We will continue to Fight To Repeal and Replace SCOTUScare."

Press Release

Date: June 25, 2015
Location: Washington, DC

Following the Supreme Court's ruling today in the King vs. Burwell case, Congressman Curt Clawson issued the following statement:

"I am deeply disappointed in the ruling of the Supreme Court and as Justice Scalia stated in his opinion," "We should start calling this law SCOTUScare." It would seem to me that the phrase "established by the State" would be pretty clear and concise, but apparently not.

"As a former CEO, I did not want my employees forced into ObamaCare, and as Congressman I feel strongly that it should be repealed and replaced. Never before in our nation's history had such a major piece of legislation been passed without bipartisan support. That was before over three million citizens lost their plans despite what the President had promised.

"As the majority party, we will continue to work hard to repeal and replace ObamaCare with an inclusive plan that incorporates the ideas that we all can agree would cover pre-existing conditions, provide portability, and allow insurance companies to sell plans across state lines to open the free market to keep costs down.

"It's now in the hands of the Legislative Branch to do better for the American people."
